Dr. Brown's cereal nipples are one of the only Y-cut nipples on the market! They fit any standard bottle, although they also make wide neck y-cut nipples. When you are advised to thicken your baby's breastmilk or formula with cereal, it is so much easier to use these nipples than to try to cut your own Y in a regular nipple. My only complaint is the nipples don't last long and we had to buy replacement ones after a couple of months.

Our preemie had severe reflux, so we had to thicken breastmilk and formula for several months (the milk was thickened with Simply Thick and the formula with rice, in both cases to what they call "honey" consistency, and later to "nectar" consistency). The Dr. Brown's bottles helped with gas and the Y-cut nipples were perfect for the thickness of the milk and formula.
Please note that you need to replace these more often than a nipple with a regular hole. The nature of a Y-cut is that the cuts eventually get bigger as the baby chews on the nipple, resulting in too much flow. This isn't the manufacturer's fault, just how it is with any Y-cut. We found that the nipples lasted about a month before the Y-cut started getting a little too big. Since they are not that expensive, we kept a good supply on hand and routinely replaced them -- just part of the price of having a baby that has reflux.
